Root canal treatment saves broken, damaged teeth and relieves pain
Root canal therapy gives relief to some of the most painful dental problems. It quickly relieves pain that comes when tooth decay reaches the nerve canal or when the nerve is exposed from trauma. It is the only way to save natural teeth that have damage to the nerve of the tooth.
Usually, the other treatment choice is to pull the tooth. Tooth loss is devastating to your oral health and overall well-being. Pulling a tooth is always the last resort.

The process
If you and Dr. Z decide to do a root canal, you will feel better quickly. Your tooth will be numbed to take away the pain. A root canal is like a “deep cleaning” to the insides of a tooth. A small opening s is made in the tooth. Then the nerve canals are cleaned to remove infected or damaged nerve tissues. The nerve canals are sterilized and shaped, then sealed.Medicine is put into the opening to prevent re-infection.
The treatment is usually wecompleted with a dental crown to protect and strengthen the treated tooth. Treated teeth can be cared for hassle-free, just like other healthy teeth. By maintaining good oral hygiene at home and professional visits to our office in northwest Reno, NV, your treated tooth will serve you for years to come.
